William Glass was born in El Paso, Texas and came to California to study architecture in the 1960s. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and his Masters in Architecture and Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. His studies included photography, fine arts, film, and multi-media.
Bill is a practicing architect in the San Francisco Bay Area and Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. His firm, Glass Associates, Inc., has been recognized for design excellence through competitions, awards, and the publication of its projects.
Though a student of art since childhood, his architectural practice for many years limited his time for drawing and painting to sketches, drawings and rendering associated with his building projects. In the late 1990’s, however, Bill returned to painting. He brings a photographer’s eye and an architect’s sense of craft and detail to his work.
